I studied art and art history as an undergraduate and postgraduate in South Africa and Wales. With my undergraduate, Masters and PhD students, I am interested in developing alternative approaches to photographic practices (both chemically and conceptually) especially as related to the influence of esotericism on visual media. My most recent art practice is centred on the production of short 16mm films that include stop motion animation and manipulation of the film surface. In addition I am currently engaged with research related to mythic ideals and physiognomy under the auspices of National Socialism.
